Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long does land clearing take?

Most residential lots in Pinckney clear in one to three days, while larger commercial sites require more time based on acreage and vegetation density.
  • What happens to debris after clearing?

Debris can be hauled off-site or processed into mulch depending on your preference. MSJR Land Works coordinates removal or on-site processing based on project needs.
  • Can you work around existing trees?

Yes, selective clearing preserves specimen trees and natural features while removing unwanted vegetation. Boundaries are marked before work begins to protect designated areas.
  • When is the best time for site preparation?

Spring through fall offers optimal conditions in Michigan. Dry soil allows proper compaction and grading, while frozen ground in winter limits equipment access and effectiveness.
  • What areas does MSJR Land Works serve?

We serve Pinckney, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Brighton, Jackson, and surrounding Southeast Michigan communities including Oakland, Wayne, and Monroe Counties.
  • Do you handle both residential and commercial projects?

Yes, MSJR Land Works serves single-lot residential builds, multi-acre commercial developments, and everything in between with equipment suited to each project scale.
  • How deep does stump grinding go?

Stumps are ground six to twelve inches below soil surface, preventing regrowth and allowing grass or construction to proceed over the area.
  • What makes forestry mulching eco-friendly?

Mulching grinds vegetation in place, creating nutrient-rich ground cover that prevents erosion and improves soil health without hauling debris to landfills.
  • Can you grade for proper drainage?

Yes, grading establishes slopes that direct water away from foundations and structures, preventing pooling and water damage especially important in Michigan's clay soils.
  • Do you provide emergency storm cleanup?

MSJR Land Works responds quickly to fallen trees, blocked access, and storm debris removal, mobilizing within hours when safety or property damage is at stake.
  • What is a soft wash and what is the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?

Soft Wash - House Wash - A Soft Wash House Wash is done by applying our specialized detergent solution to the home excluding the shingles and allowing it to get in all the cracks and crevasses to eliminate organic growth and dirt from the home and then we go back around with a thorough rinse.

Our methods are done using high volume and low pressure utilizing high flow pressure washers with detergents applied to clean so we are safer and more effective than pressure washing alone. This is the same process for washing fences of all kinds, sheds, boats, trailers, rvs, etc.

The difference in pressure washing vs soft washing is the use of detergents to lift dirt and eliminate organic growth with a soft washing compared to using just water to blast things from one place to another with pressure washing alone.

why not do it yourself ? Because our method is more effective, longer lasting, more environmentally friendly and zero effort for customer
